Individuals (age 14+)

You might wake up one day and realize that you don’t believe in the same things that you used to. You’ve changed, or are in the process of changing, and need someone to help you process this new journey you’ve found yourself on. Or, you may be in the middle of another type of transition, and are needing support to help you sort through all the mental noise and confusion. We can help you sort through those feelings, give you tools to combat stress, and support you along the way.

Couples/Relational

People come into therapy usually because there’s something off—somehow there’s a disconnect between you and your partner. It could be that you’re continually finding yourself in gridlocked issues and don’t know how to move past them. Or, you feel misunderstood and don’t know why your partner just can’t get it. For others, there’s been an affair, and you’re wondering if you should continue your relationship, or, you’re wondering how you could ever work through what happened. Trust has been shattered, you’re feeling so many things, and you don’t see how you could go on. You’ve tried to work through the issues, and it’s just not working anymore. We’ll help you delve into these issues to find out why they’re happening, and then we’ll explore how to change your relational patterns and find new ways of being in relationship together.

[Postpartum] Mamas

Being a mom is hard (is that the understatement of the year? And partners, our hats off to you as well.). Do you need support, a shoulder to cry on, someone who will listen to you no matter what you say, and someone who will not judge or condemn you? There’s probably nothing you’re feeling we haven’t heard, or felt ourselves. Right now, things feel impossibly hard and you’re wondering if you’ll always feel this way. You’re crying a lot, you’re angry, and you’re feeling guilty for almost everything, and are embarrassed for feeling and thinking the things you do. Whatever you’re feeling or needing, we’ll help support you before and after baby comes. Together, we’ll make a plan to get you back on your feet, feeling like your normal self again. Even if it’s years after baby is here—you don’t have to go through this alone; we are here to help.

Therapy for Men

Suck it up. Get over it. Rub some dirt on it. Be a man. These are the words men hear every day. They are the subtle messages underlining the main message - real men shouldn’t feel. Anything. Except maybe anger. But even that is complicated these days. Or you can be a ‘nice guy’, but feel like you never get ahead. Regardless, you are always stacking yourself up and wondering where you stand in the crowd. Am I enough? Do I have what it takes? The questions can be haunting. The end result - so many men are confused, angry and feel totally and completely alone as they navigate life. We love to help men identify a different way. A way that shows vulnerability without being weak, calls men to stand up without shaming them for the ways they’ve missed the mark. In short, a call to embrace the “Hero’s Journey”, going down into the difficult spaces in order to come into the true inner strength we desire.

Families

Sometimes the people you are closest with are the ones who can drive you over the edge like nobody else. Family systems can be tricky things - long held behaviors and systems of belief that just refuse to budge. Behaviors like long-term substance or emotional abuse, generational traumas, and rigidly held beliefs can tear even the most loving families apart. Family Systems theorists say “If nothing changes, nothing changes”. We would be honored to hold space for you to begin the healing work of bringing these issues into the light so real change can happen.

People with sexual concerns

Issues around mismatched desire, infidelity, shame, and feelings of disconnection around sex are some of the most common issues that present in therapy. Sometimes it takes awhile for people to get to a spot of comfort and safety to openly discuss it, but it’s there the whole time just under the surface. We help clients to broaden their vocabulary (and ideas!) around sex, working to create a more generative and safe space from which to explore sexuality individually and relationally. We can help people struggling with mismatched desires, infidelity, low libido, high libido, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, pain with intercourse, and difficulty with orgasm.
