LIFE EXPERIENCE

I hold a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, which has provided me with a solid foundation for understanding human behavior and emotional well-being. Over the past several years, I have gained experience in various therapeutic settings, working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. My focus has been on integrating mindfulness practices and evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients in achieving their personal growth and healing. Additionally, I have pursued ongoing education in areas such as Relational Life Therapy and trauma-informed care, ensuring that I remain knowledgeable about current best practices. My approach emphasizes collaboration with clients, fostering a safe and empathetic environment for exploration and growth. I believe the therapy office is one of the most sacred spaces in our society today; a space where you can know and be known, without judgment or condemnation. A place to explore, question, grieve, celebrate, and expand. It’s a beautiful space.

In addition to working as a therapist and executive coach, I am Dad to three kids who are growing up faster than I could ever imagine. It’s by far my favorite role and title. I loves being outdoors - especially anything that involves water. I also love to travel and enjoy new experiences. When I’m at home you’ll probably find me listening to music, cooking a delicious meal, doing projects around the house, and having campfires with friends and neighbors.

Dave’s Client Base

Melding his experience in small business, non-profit organizations, and coaching, Dave is at home with a broad range of individuals of varied backgrounds. He is passionate about relationships and development, and has a keen knack for pressing gently but firmly into the rough spaces around seasons of change. He finds great joy in helping people lean into the transitional moments of life and find meaning in the ‘stuck' places so they can grow, learn and heal. He loves bringing practical tools to sessions to give his clients the skills they need to get healed and get on with life.

He loves coming along side of and digging into the ‘muck’ of relational struggles with couples and life partners.

He loves to work with executives, entrepreneurs and small business owners because he understands the demands and personal toll of getting a dream off the ground. He can do coaching with people located anywhere via Telehealth.

People who develop and care for others are a soft spot for Dave. Whether therapists, nurses, doctors, clergy members, or social workers, they sometimes need someone to pour into the parts of them that are not ok with just being. The parts that need to derive meaning from their performance or the impact they have on other’s lives. These younger parts might need a little love to know they are accepted for who they are, as they are and don’t need to show up perfectly to matter.

Those who are in-between: adolescents struggling with a desire to be connected but also explore the freedoms of adulthood, newly married/partnered people trying to keep a sense of independence while also being the life partner they want to be for their chosen ones, and new parents struggling with balancing their own needs and relationships with the crazy important work of caring for fragile new life.

And people in transition: from those struggling with the monotonous train tracks of middle life, to those moving into the golden years—trying to squeeze the most out of life, while also making sense of the things that are changing (or not changing!) due to the passing of years and the changes that come with them.

People who are eager to get more from life than “it is what it is” - and who are ready to do some work to find out what more is out there - will love working with Dave. His combination of light-hearted thoughtfulness, challenging supportiveness, and spiritually informed way of connecting with people and the world around him quickly endears his clients to him, and he to them.
